About Sri Maha Vishnu Kshetra
Nestled in the serene hills of Kodagu, Kaggodlu Village is a tranquil haven that captures the essence of rural Karnataka. Known for its lush green coffee plantations, mist-covered hills, and warm hospitality, Kaggodlu is also the future site of the new Sri Maha Vishnu Kshetra. The devoted and enthusiastic people of Kaggodlu have come together to rebuild the Maha Vishnu temple on the site of the old temple ruins. The current ruins are remnants of a magnificent temple that graced the area several centuries ago.
A team of distinguished astrologers conducted elaborate rituals (Ashtamangala Prashne) at this sacred site to seek divine guidance. The Ashtamangala revealed that the original temple, which existed in great grandeur nearly a thousand years ago, was blessed by Lord Vishnu but later fell into ruins due to invasions and vandalism. Recent unfortunate incidents in the area further highlighted the need to reconstruct the temple, restore devotion, and revive its former splendor.

Help us rebuild the temple
As a result of the Ashtamangala, the villagers under the guidance of astrologers and priests have developed a comprehensive plan for the temple’s reconstruction. This ambitious project is slated for completion within the next five years.
Currently, a temporary structure (balaalaya) houses the statue of Sri Maha Vishnu, where weekly offerings and pujas are performed.
The residents of Kaggodlu are earnestly seeking donations to support the realization of this grand project. Your generous contribution will make a significant difference.

The estimated cost to rebuild the temple is ₹4 Crores. A detailed plan and architectural design are currently being developed by professionals and will be shared here once finalized. Regular project updates will also be provided on this page.
